In order to preserve academic continuity, all linked colleges have been instructed to switch to online instruction.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/punjab.gov.pk\/\">government of Punjab<\/a> declares a health emergency.<br \/>\nThe Punjab government has declared a health emergency in Lahore and Multan as part of a slew of emergency steps in response to the worsening <a href=\"https:\/\/educations.pk\/blog\/2023\/10\/28\/impact-of-smog-on-the-education-sector-in-pakistan\/\">smog problem.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Steps to Address the issue of Smog<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To remedy the problem, the government declared the following measures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Closure of Furnace Plants and Brick Kilns: In an effort to cut emissions, all furnace-based businesses and brick kilns in Lahore and Multan have been closed as of Friday.<\/li>\n<li>Ban on Heavy Traffic: It is strictly forbidden for heavy vehicles to enter Lahore or Multan.<\/li>\n<li>Possible Lockdown: If the air quality does not improve by Wednesday, there may be a complete lockdown on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.<\/li>\n<li>Limited Restaurant Operations: Restaurants will only be open for business until 4 PM. Up until 8 PM, takeaway will be allowed; after that, all establishments will have to close.<\/li>\n<li>Extended Holidays and Online Courses: All Punjabi schools, with the exception of Murree, will be closed till November 24 and will have to switch to online instruction.<\/li>\n<li>Stop Construction Activities: With the exception of national-level projects, all construction in Lahore and Multan has been prohibited.<\/li>\n<li>Extended Hospital Services: Hospital OPDs will now be open until 8 PM, and holidays for physicians, nurses, and paramedical personnel have been cancelled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As Punjab&#8217;s everyday life is still impacted by the smog crisis, these actions are intended to reduce pollution levels and safeguard public health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the city&#8217;s rising haze, Punjab University has stated that all planned exams will be postponed.
