In an incredible accomplishment, a student from a government school took first place in the 2024 Matric<\/a> Science yearly exams, breaking private schools’ 28-year supremacy.<\/p>\n

The results were released on Friday by the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK),<\/a> and Hafiz Abdul Rafay Tariq took first place. Rafay attends Delhi Government Boys Secondary School in Karimabad. He received an outstanding score of 94.55% (1040\/1100). At the same school, Tariq Mehboob, his father, teaches mathematics.<\/p>\n

With this triumph, a government school has won the top spot in the matric science exams for the first time since 1996. Students from private schools took the second and third places. Rukhsar from Little Folks School in North Nazimabad earned third place with 1,025 marks (93.18%), followed by Rumaissa Imran from Al-Khalil Model School in Malir in second place with 1,037 marks (94.27%).<\/p>\n

131,614 (81.24%) of the 163,012 enrolled candidates passed the tests; 23,943 students obtained an A1 grade, and 45,357 students obtained an A. Female students fared even better than male students, with 15,616 receiving A1 grades and 63,767 passing.<\/p>\n
