It has been announced by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) that the 2025 Fulbright Scholar Program<\/a> is currently accepting applications. About fifteen scholars will be chosen by this prestigious program for the 2025\u20132026 academic year. Of these, 13 are designated for early-career faculty members and researchers with 2\u20137 years of experience, and the remaining 2 are meant for senior scholars who have completed their Ph.D. or terminal degree within the last 8\u201315 years.<\/p>\n

Opportunities for lectureships, post-doctoral research, or a mix of both at a U.S. college or university are offered<\/a> via the Fulbright Scholar Program for a maximum of 12 months. Selected academics will participate in scholarly and cultural exchanges, sharing their knowledge of Pakistani society and customs with American students, colleagues, and community organisations. Fulbright scholars are supposed to share their American experiences with their academic and professional networks in Pakistan, where they will hopefully contribute significantly to the nation’s progress.<\/p>\n

Benefits of Grants<\/h3>\n

The program provides a full package that includes health insurance, a living stipend, travel, and an incidental research allowance. It also includes financial assistance for one accompanying dependent and covers the visa application process.<\/p>\n

Qualifiability Standards<\/h3>\n

Scholars, professionals, and artists from all fields\u2014with the exception of clinical medicine\u2014are welcome to apply to the program. A Ph.D. or terminal degree is required, and candidates must have held their current academic position for a minimum of two years. Before applying, those who have just returned from study abroad in the US must have lived in Pakistan for at least two years.<\/p>\n

Important Requirements<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • fluency in both spoken and written English.<\/li>\n
  • a strong proposal outlining the applicant’s objectives in the United States and how their work relates to Pakistan. An essential part of the application is the proposal.<\/li>\n
  • demonstrated aptitude for university-level instruction.<\/li>\n
  • Pakistani citizenship, with a strong academic background and significant involvement in academic or professional activities in Pakistan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Criteria for Ineligibility<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Those who hold dual citizenship between the United States and Pakistan, as well as those who have a spouse, parent, or child over the age of 18, who is a permanent resident of the United States, are ineligible.<\/li>\n
    • Applications are not accepted from Fulbright, USAID, or U.S. Department of State employees or their immediate families.
      \nA work visa holder or someone studying in the United States is also not eligible.<\/li>\n
    • Plagiarism, fake publications, or misrepresentation of any kind will result in instant disqualification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Procedure for Applications<\/h3>\n

      All qualified applicants must submit their applications online at www.usefp.org, the USEFP website. The deadline for submitting an application, including all references, is Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Only applications submitted online will be accepted.<\/p>\n

      Applicants from various origins and under-represented communities are especially encouraged to apply by USEFP. Prospective applicants should visit the USEFP website, email scholar@usefp.org, call 051-8431300, or fax 051-8431555 for additional information.<\/p>\n
