{"id":3939,"date":"2024-08-02T19:52:24","date_gmt":"2024-08-02T14:52:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/educations.pk\/blog\/?p=3939"},"modified":"2024-08-02T19:52:24","modified_gmt":"2024-08-02T14:52:24","slug":"pmdc-releases-tighter-guidelines-for-international-college-admissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/educations.pk\/blog\/2024\/08\/02\/pmdc-releases-tighter-guidelines-for-international-college-admissions\/","title":{"rendered":"PMDC Releases Tighter Guidelines for International College Admissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new policy for Pakistani students enrolling to undergraduate medical and dentistry schools overseas has been announced by the <a href=\"https:\/\/pmdc.pk\/\">Pakistan Medical and dentistry Council (PMDC)<\/a>, and it will take effect for the 2024\u20132025 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>The policy specifies a number of prerequisites that must be satisfied in order to be admitted to these overseas universities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the new <a href=\"https:\/\/educations.pk\/blog\/2024\/05\/06\/rationalising-fees-for-private-medical-and-dental-colleges-will-be-discussed-by-the-pmdc-committee\/\">PMDC<\/a> policy, students must fulfil one of the following requirements in order to be admitted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Earn a minimum of 60% in Pakistan&#8217;s FSC Pre-Medical program.<\/li>\n<li>Attain a minimum of 550 points across all SAT II subjects.<\/li>\n<li>Earn a minimum of 50% in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics in a Higher Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, and then pass a foreign MCAT or UCAT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In accordance with the guideline, students must score at least 50% on the <a href=\"https:\/\/educations.pk\/blog\/2024\/07\/19\/exam-date-for-mdcat-2024-announced-by-pmdc\/\">MDCAT<\/a>, which is administered in Pakistan. If an individual completes their intermediate schooling in Pakistan, their MDCAT results are valid for three years.<\/p>\n<p>Students also need to make sure that the institution they have selected is on the list of authorised institutions maintained by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.<\/p>\n<p>The degree must be in allopathic medicine from a school accredited by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) or included in the World Directory of Medical Schools, as well as acknowledged by the nation&#8217;s appropriate regulatory authority.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the policy, before beginning their studies in a foreign medical institution, students must get a PMDC Student Registration Certificate. Over the course of five years, the medical program must comprise a minimum of 6,200 hours of instruction with an attendance requirement of 80%.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, in nations where English is not the primary language of teaching, pupils are required to study the native tongue for a minimum of half a year. To obtain complete registration, they must also pass the PMDC&#8217;s National Registration Examination.<\/p>\n<p>Before departing for overseas study, students are required to provide their housing details and phone numbers for the study country.
