The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme<\/a> at the University of Health Sciences (UHS)<\/a> in Lahore will now last five years instead of four. Beginning with the 2024\u20132025 academic year, a new modular integrated curriculum for BDS will be put into place.<\/p>\n

At the 48th meeting of the UHS Board of Studies in Dentistry on Friday, this decision was accepted. Professor Ahsan Waheed Rathore, the vice chancellor of UHS, chaired the meeting.
\nThe Rs2,428 million budget for the 2024\u201325 fiscal year was approved by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Board of Governors on June 26.<\/p>\n

The meeting was presided over by Justice (retired) Sheikh Ahmad Farooq. Research and scholarships have received up to Rs82 million in funding, the annual development plan has been given Rs241.9 million, and employee pay total Rs888.4 million. Additionally, an ad hoc relief allowance of up to a 25% increase in employee compensation has been allowed.<\/p>\n

Up to Rs. 10 million has been set aside to support the families of workers who have died while on the job, Rs. 65 million for the purchase of lab equipment, Rs. 50 million for the construction of a mosque, student centre, and other infrastructure on the university’s Jinnah campus, and Rs. 250 million for the administration of exams.
