The Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui<\/a>, accompanied a team to Cambridge University Press and Assessment from July 6 to July 9, 2024. The goal of this tour was to investigate new opportunities for educational collaboration. Other important officials who attended included Rashid Ali, Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Syeda Zia Batool, Chairperson of PEIRA<\/a>, and Ali Raza, Education Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab. A variety of conferences, meetings, and tours were on the schedule, all aimed at promoting relationships and improving understanding between participants.<\/p>\n

Dr Siddiqui’s keynote speech at the Cambridge Schools Conference, which the group attended, focused on the importance of effective communication in education. This was in line with the conference’s subject, “Effective communication: from competence to confidence.”
\nDr. Siddiqui and his group had productive conversations with Cambridge representatives during their tour, including Tim Oates, Group Director of Assessment Research and Development, and Jane Mann, Managing Director of Cambridge Partnership for Education.<\/p>\n

These talks addressed a wide range of subjects, including climate education and international educational methods. A thorough tour of the Cambridge archives, which highlighted the long-standing academic connections between Pakistan and Cambridge, was one of the highlights. Dr. Siddiqui spoke on the significance of these historical ties and how they have consistently raised Pakistan’s educational levels. Three major areas for future cooperation were emphasised by the Minister and the Punjabi delegate: improved teacher preparation, curriculum standard alignment, and including climate change education through an all-encompassing curriculum approach.<\/p>\n

Important social and networking activities were also arranged throughout the tour, giving the group chances to network and consider joint ventures. Future collaborations were confirmed during a lunch discussion with Dr. Kamal Munir, Pro Vice Chancellor of the Judge Business School. After a guided tour of Cambridge University, the delegation’s visit came to an end, reaffirming their shared commitment to global collaboration and high standards of education.
