The Sindh government has tasked the Dow University of Health Sciences<\/a> (DUHS) with administering the medical and dental colleges admissions test (MDCAT) following the announcement by the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro (LUMHS)<\/a> that it would not be able to do so.<\/p>\n

For the third year running, DUHS<\/a> is conducting the exam in order to grant admission to private and public medical and dentistry schools in Sindh. Rehan Baloch, the Sindh Health Secretary, has formally announced this decision.<\/p>\n

Vice Chancellor Dr. Ikramuddin Ujjan of LUMHS stated that because his son will be taking the exam, he was unable to supervise the MDCAT this year. He recommended that the test be administered by a different university to guarantee transparency and impartiality.<\/p>\n

There had previously been rumours that the exam might be administered by Larkana Medical University or People’s Medical University Nawabshah. Nevertheless, the authorities chose to assign the duty to DUHS.<\/p>\n

Recall that DUHS administered the MDCAT last year as well after Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s first exam was postponed owing to claims of paper leaks.<\/p>\n
