The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa<\/a> cabinet has approved the offer of brilliant children enrolling in government institutions free, top-notch education from seventh to twelfth grade. These pupils will have access to some of the province’s most prestigious schools.<\/p>\n

The cabinet met and took important decisions on energy production, education, food security, procurement of wheat, and sustainable development, with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur serving as chairman.<\/p>\n

The Ranolia Hydropower Project in Lower Kohistan, with a capacity of 17 megawatts (MW), has been approved for restoration and rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

With funding from the Asian Development Bank<\/a>, the project\u2014which the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) had previously approved for Rs8.1 billion\u2014was now approved by the government as a non-ADP plan. Furthermore, approval was given for the purchase of 327 kanals of land for the 88 MW Gabral Kalam Hydropower project in District Swat, which is being supported by the World Bank.<\/p>\n

When this project is up and running, it is expected to bring in more than Rs 7.4 billion a year for the province.<\/p>\n

In addition, the cabinet authorised supplementary compensation for land and developed property in relation to the 300 MW Balakot Hydropower project on the Kunhar River Manshera, based on an independent assessment evaluation.<\/p>\n

Restoration and rehabilitation of the 17 megawatt (MW) Ranolia Hydropower Project in Lower Kohistan have been permitted.<\/p>\n

The project, which the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) had earlier approved for Rs8.1 billion, was now approved by the government as a non-ADP plan with money from the Asian Development Bank. Additionally, consent was granted for the purchase of 327 kanals of land for the World Bank-supported 88 MW Gabral Kalam Hydropower project in District Swat.<\/p>\n

Once operational, this facility is anticipated to generate about Rs 7.4 billion in revenue annually for the province.<\/p>\n

Along with the adoption of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Registration of Godown Rules 2022, which was required by the KP Godown Registration Act 2021 to regulate and register warehouses and ensure a comprehensive system for the stable supply and availability of goods, land acquisition for the construction of the Judicial Complex at Panah Kotm Upper Dir was also endorsed.<\/p>\n

The chief minister’s proposal to double the monthly scholarship amount and the number of worthy recipients starting in the next academic year was approved by the cabinet, which allows gifted students in government schools to receive free, high-quality education from grades seven through twelve.<\/p>\n

The cabinet emphasized ensuring that no student is deprived of education due to a lack of textbooks and related facilities, directing a study to compare the quality and cost of textbooks published by the government and private sectors. Additionally, the utilization of old textbooks was approved in the broader interest of the province\u2019s populace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
