The Punjabi government<\/a> has set aside Rs. 50 billion for the modernization of more than 39,000 schools.<\/p>\n

32,000 of these will move from primary to elementary level, and 7,000 of these will move from elementary to high level.<\/p>\n

Primary schools will undergo this upgrading over the next three years, after elementary schools, according to an official document cited by the media, will undergo it over the following two years. These schools will also acquire modern scientific labs and information technology (IT).<\/p>\n

The delivery of textbooks must happen immediately, as Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz<\/a> has stressed. CM Maryam Nawaz chaired a meeting where the Punjab School Inspectorate’s proposal to create a Standardised Matriculation Examination Board and centralise school-related matters was discussed.<\/p>\n

Along with announcing plans to open divisional level schools for transgender children throughout the province, she also underlined the significance of character development programmes in government schools and the requirement that at least one government school in each district have special education facilities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
