The chairman of the Punjab Board<\/a> Committee has decided to split the examination questions for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies for the Secondary School Certificate, which is given to students in grades 9 and 10.<\/p>\n

As per the new instruction, ninth-graders will take an exam specifically for Islamic Studies, which is a 100-point paper, beginning with the forthcoming academic session 2025.<\/p>\n

In addition, tenth graders will take a supplementary 100-point test focused only on Pakistan Studies at the same time.<\/p>\n

These two topics (Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies), both worth 100 marks, are tested in two sections, the 9′ and 10″ exams, with 50 marks assigned to each section.\u00a0The ruling will be relevant for the 2025 Class 9th exam.<\/p>\n

Students now have to take nine courses in one year.<\/p>\n

The Punjab Boards Committee Chairperson discussed and the Punjab government authorized a proposal to conduct a paper on Islamist (Compulsory) and Pakistan Studies (Compulsory) at the SSC level separately for 100 marks in each component instead of both parts of the SSC examination.<\/p>\n

The decision would result in applicants for the Secondary School Certificate test taking fewer cumulative papers overall\u201409 down to 08 (Part-1 and Part-2\u00a0each).<\/p>\n

Examiner in Charge In response to the recent decision, the Punjab Textbook Board received a letter from the Lahore Education Board<\/a> instructing it to begin preparing the Islamic Studies and Pak Studies volumes independently starting in the following year.<\/p>\n
