Being able to look for good books \u2013 both online and offline – is a serendipitously fulfilling practice to wisely select well-written and academic discourse quality books. Most commonly, textbooks are required and assigned for courses and subjects during upper school years and degree programs at colleges and universities. They should be available in local bookstores.<\/p>\n
Additionally, students can locate complementing textbooks which might be recommended as additional readings by one\u2019s professors.\u00a0 Studious fellow students may also be able to recommend helpful texts. Visiting the local libraries is also helpful when looking for newly authored books on subjects of interest.<\/p>\n
Also, students can establish or become members of good book clubs and consistently join in them – not only to be able to listen in as to what others have for sharing and for learning from collectively reflecting on a selected book reading, but also, to share and recommend the books students may have read themselves. This bidirectional and organically sustained process of knowledge sharing and recommending additional relevant books allows room for further curiosity in dynamically involved readers.\u00a0 It gives everyone a chance to look forward to future opportunities of learning from each other\u2019s book reflections and reading other authored books.<\/p>\n
As the pandemic fades away and the world becomes viable for visiting bookstores and attending book conferences commemorating old thinkers and writers who may not be alive any longer, it will be intellectually beneficial for students to gather in good knowledge -offering places as that will continually make way for the processes of thinking, writing, reading, and learning to continue.<\/p>\n
Good books also find their readers. It is possible for any good book that draws a reader for its title, cover, foreword, and academic reviews, to be fully read by that reader.\u00a0 At that point, the length of a book does not matter. What will matter to attuned students is the depth, substance, and the beneficial messages that can be received from reading books.<\/p>\n
An important thing to remember is that, please do not be discouraged or limited in collecting books for reading them. If space or price are barriers to reading books, in today\u2019s digital age, almost all popular books from any academic subject are available online through apps such as nook or kindle. Adobe readers on phones and ipads can easily make online books readable. Handbooks and fundamental texts are always good to have for ready referencing, especially, when one is writing scholarly papers.<\/p>\n
Read! And read thoughtfully. Think about what you read. Discover what the authors are sharing as guiding points for issues to be aware of and implementation and solutions. Not merely explore or get confused. But learn to clarify your concepts. Read multiple books from different authors who have earned to be experts on the subject matter. If possible, ask questions directly to the authors who are alive and appear for interviews about their newly published books. With respect for their time and a positive sense of open learning attitude, seeking conceptual understanding-oriented answers are appreciated by authors who welcome an intellectually stimulating conversation about their written works. Make the effort to truly read good books over the Summer this year!<\/p>\n
